AAWGT is pleased to present our annual meeting on Women and Leadership on International Women's Day. We are hosting this special evening to hear from two amazing women and their daughters who demonstrate their passion for giving back to their communities:
Elizabeth Kinney is a well-known leader in the Annapolis area. She is former Executive Director of the Light House shelter, and presently serves as the President of Light House Shelter Social Enterprise which includes the Light House Bistro Cafe. Her daughter, Megan Kinney is a LA-based singer/songwriter, instrumentalist, yoga teacher, and dancer who seeks to inspire others with her music and activism.
Jan Piercy served as Deputy Assistant to President Clinton, represented the US on the World Bank board, serves on the advisory council of the Global Philanthropy Forum, and Board chair of the Homeless Children's Playtime Project. Her daughter, Lissa Piercy is a performance artist in poetry, and co-founder of Strength of Doves, a talent agency/speakers bureau representing social justice-oriented clients.
This panel discussion will be moderated by AAWGT member, Kitty Higgins, president of the Higgins Company, former White House Cabinet Secretary, Deputy Secretary at Department of Labor, and member of National Transportation Safety Board.
