MAy 9 voting meeting
Thanks to the generosity and collaborative spirit of Anne Arundel Women Giving Together members, the organization will have distributed $1 million to local nonprofits after this year’s grants are awarded. That means $1 million to improve the quality of life for women and families in Anne Arundel County. Beginning with its founding in 2006, AAWGT has brought local women together, united in their commitment to fund programs that focus on health and welfare, education, and the prevention of and treatment for violence and abuse. AAWGT is a fund of the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County.
Let’s celebrate the giving circle, the friends who have joined and supported its work, the non-profits large and small that do so much good, and the hope for a better future for all women and families in our county.
This year’s grantee nonprofits were selected at the May 9 voting meeting. Their awards of $105,136 pushed our total giving to just above the magic $1 million mark. Grants were awarded this year to STAIR-Annapolis: Start The Adventure In Reading
